When is a skirt not a skirt? Well, when it's a dress! See, there's this Jill Stuart dress that I fell in love with--and then ordered--a few weeks ago. I've been dying to wear it, but the weather hasn't caught up with said desire for summery sundresses. Enter a camel colored sweater, which I threw on top, and lo and behold, my new summer dress gained new life as a faux-skirt.

The only problem? The vibrant salmon top of the dress was now hidden, so to liven up its newly neutral palette, I added a few bright touches: candy-colored pumps, bubblegum-y lip gloss, and pink streaks in my hair. Yes, pink streaks. In my hair. They're courtesy of a cool new product from Kevin Murphy called Color Bug, they're subtle and temporary, and they were so much fun! I'll be giving more details on how I got the streaks--plus more on my beauty look here--later this week. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, tell me: Which of your summer clothes are you just itching to wear?

  3. I am loving the colors of that dress, I can see why you are getting so impatient with the weather.
I bought this flower print dress from J. Crew last fall and have yet to wear it. I had planned to winter-ize it but never did, so now I actually get to wear it in the right kind of weather for it... once the temps actually get above 75 degrees.

  8. I always love layering a cozy sweater over a dress for a new look! You pulled it off well :) Do another outfit post when it's warmer wearing just the dress! I'd love to see it!
