Mommy and Me Mani/Pedi

We all cracked up when she randomly put her arms behind her head. Guess this universal sign of relaxation is innate?
The only part of the pedi she was unsure about? The tissues separating her toes. She said: "Momma, do we have to keep these papers on our feet all day??"
Moving on to the manis!

This day was fun....until she had to sit still and let her nails dry. #notintothat
On me: Essie Nail Polish in Bond With Whomever; Catbird rings. On her: hot pink I forgot to write down (!) and Color Club Nail Polish in Pucci Licious. Photos by Jennifer Casson Photography.
As you can probably guess by the fact that we're wearing sundresses in these photos, these pics are a wee bit old. They were taken at the tail end of the summer, right before I went back to work after my maternity leave. And, um, I'm just getting them up now. But how cute are they? It was such a special day, and Jennifer did an amazing job capturing it. I just had to share.

See, my daughter is a girly girl in every sense of the word. She lives for Cinderella, Fancy Nancy books, and pretty much anything having to do with pink, purple, or sparkles (gee, where did she get that from?). So as a special treat (and as one of our last weekday mommy/daughter outings before I headed back to work), I took her to The V Spot Nail Spa in Hoboken for her first "mani/pedi."

She loved it.

And, quite honestly, I loved watching her. I was barely paying attention to my own (wonderful!) services, because I couldn't take my eyes off of my girly girl living out her super girly experience. She was SO excited to choose her own polish colors (not so excited when she dropped a bottle and it broke and spilled on the floor though...!), relax in the big cushy chairs, and have her feet massaged with honey. (She was less excited to wait for the polish to dry though. Patience is not a virtue of three year olds.)

As cheesy as it sounds, I actually almost cried a few times watching her. Sure, it's only nail polish, but it's a bit of a beauty milestone, right? And milestones of any kind mean that my little girl is (sniff, sniff) growing up.

This is so adorable! I love all the pics, but especially the one where she's relaxing in the chair with her arms behind her head. So cute!

Aw, this is so cute! I just found out that my next baby will be a girl, so I'm going to look forward to spa days like this (I can't imagine my son ever sitting for a spa day haha)
